FREE Armor Rating Upgrades???
Taken from 4/26 Update!
ARMOR CHANGES New armor designs from Cantha have begun to influence armor crafters in Tyria. Existing armor sets will not be updated yet, but a means to upgrade existing level-20 armor for free will be provided in the near future. Elementalist: * Aeromancer's armor: now provides +10 armor vs. elemental damage and +10 armor vs. lightning damage. * Pyromancer's armor: now provides +10 armor vs. elemental damage and +10 armor vs. fire damage. * Hydromancer's armor: now provides +10 armor vs. elemental damage and +10 armor vs. water damage. * Geomancer's armor: now provides +10 armor vs. elemental damage and +10 armor vs. earth damage. Mesmer: * Rogue's armor: no longer provides less Energy than standard armor. Monk: * Judge's armor: no longer provides less Energy than standard armor. * Wanderer's armor: now provides +10 armor vs. elemental damage. Warrior: * Knight's armor: now provides +20 armor vs. physical damage (instead of +10). * Knight's Helm: fixed so that it now provides +1 to Strength. * Dragon armor: now provides 90 base armor +10 armor vs. physical damage. * Platemail armor: same as Dragon. Obsidian Armor: * The word "obsidian" has been added to armor names, in accordance with the naming convention introduced in Guild Wars Factions. For example, the Monk leggings that provide additional armor against physical damage are now called "Judge's Obsidian Pants" instead of "Judge's Pants." (This change does not affect armor crafted prior to this update.) * Now includes new armor sets using the same statistics as armor only available in Cantha. * No longer includes multiple armor sets with the exact same appearance and attributes. -------------------------------------------------------------------- So my point here is, when can we exactly do the upgrade? I dont intend to purchase any canthan armor for now, but what about those that don't have factions? And those that spent over 75k for an armor? I have two sets of 15k armor for my warrior, one is glads and the other is platemail. Platemail use to have 85 AL but now its 90, i usually use this for pvp, and IMHO most people need the upgrade soon! |

This upgrade is to mantain a balance between the two games; it is designed to be done by both factions owners with older characters as well as phophecies only pvp players.
It would probably be available from any armour trader, will cost around 500 gold, and will affect all the armour you are wearing; just like infusion. |

It is just a stat change I hope, not a visual change, I like the way my 15k Tyrian Judge looks like more than any of them canthan 15k monk armors

Yeah, I can't see them wasteing time on changing the appearance, just a balancing thing. Wonder why the held off on just putting a dude in Lions Arch who upgrades armor. Surely it's not a massive big deal... :/
Guess they're more interested in new players who craft it, rather than old ones clogging up their servers. |

I don't expect to see it soon, although it would be nice. I don't have a warrior, so it doesn't effect me too much, but a weapon one would really help. |
